Four of my greatest friends got married to four other wonderful friends, two of which I had the unexpected honor of introducing to each other for the first time when working on a music video of mine. A wedding is always a beautiful thing to be a part of, but to witness so much love in one year was to see blessing in its greatest form. And funny enough, although I am not married or getting married in the near future, weddings have been a theme for me this year. “Take My Hand (The Wedding Song),” which featured one of my close friends, Will Anderson (Parachute), was released on Valentine’s Day this year and hit #4 on the iTunes Singer Songwriter charts! I was thrilled when I had all kinds of support from newlyweds and more as their video submissions came in for the crazy music video idea I came up with. Only you guys could have made that possible and I can’t wait to share the end result with you in the early new year!
Sirius XM and Coffeehouse Radio has become such an incredible outlet for me this year as they continue to play Megan Davies’ and my version of “Royals” because YOU keep listening to it. It’s so fun to have a way to sing to you no matter where you might be. I’m so glad we got to play for Coffeehouse Radio in their studios this spring so we could share even more songs with the world, like some from my fall release on Noisetrade, The Raw EP. 2,000 downloads in the first week?! Woah. I wanted to hug every one of you.
I owe a huge thank you to Belk this year too, for throwing me into the world of touring in a way I couldn’t have imagined. Being chosen out of all those people to be a part of shows with some of the top country artists in the game right now at amphitheaters scattered across the southeast sparked my urge to meet everyone my music could speak to, gave me the opportunity to play some really memorable shows for some really amazing people in NYC and Boston in the fall and inspired a whole slew of new songs that I cannot wait to share with you all.
This year has been so full of music and support. I wish only to return the same to you through my songs and moments I get to see you face to face. You will always make me smile and feel forever humbled.
Cheers to you and to 2015, may it burn brilliant and bright.
