Massachusetts-based singer-songwriter Lori McKenna may live more than 1,000 miles from Nashville, but she’s one of Music City’s hottest writers.
In recent years she’s written and co-written songs that have been recorded by Little Big Town (“Girl Crush”), Alison Krauss and Union Station (“My Love Follows You Where You Go”), Hunter Hayes (“I Want Crazy”) and more. Tim McGraw recently took her song “Humble and Kind” to the top of the charts; it’s the first No. 1 country hit in four years penned by a solo writer.
On July 29, McKenna will release her 10th album, “The Bird and the Rifle,” which she made with producer Dave Cobb, who also has produced acclaimed albums by Jason Isbell, Chris Stapleton and Sturgill Simpson.
Emily Hackett will open for Lori McKenna’s City Winery Show in Atlanta, GA on July 30.
